Our caregivers’ fundamental credentials are that they have the gift of serving, and love and respect older citizens as well as the youngest among us. Of course they are trained and attend in-services and mandatory, documented continuing education courses (they happily submit to background checks to satisfy society’s understandable demand for that level of security). Our Ellies are bright, cheerful and mature. Jan and I feel privileged to send such quality people out into the community as Personal, Homemaking and Companion care attendants. We are confident that you will be delighted with the Ellies entrusted with your families loved ones and friends you might so kindly refer.
Chris was born and raised in Kansas City and graduated from the UMKC Dental School in 1974 where he met and married Jan in 1973. After graduation, Dr. Deister spent five years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. Leaving the Army as a Major, Chris has been in private practice since 1979. After watching his mother decline from the fatigue of caring for his father with Alzheimer’s, Chris was motivated to start a company that could partner with families needing In- Home care. It is his passion to send out caregivers of Ellie’s quality so that your family can find respite while still providing compassionate, faithful, conscientious care for your loved ones.
Jan Deister was born in Wichita, Kansas, attended Denver University, and graduated with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of Missouri, Kansas City Dental School. Her professional career was put on hold for a few years when she devoted her time, love, and talents to raising their five sons. Jan worked alongside her husband at Wilmington Family Dental in Kettering, Ohio until May 2010 when she returned to school to obtain her CNA from Sinclair and to launch Ellie Home Caring. After recently losing both her parents as well as Chris’s, she became passionate about providing a trustworthy company that would work to keep seniors in their own homes for as long as possible. Jan enjoys her involvement with church… and spending time with her 15 delightful Grandchildren!
